What is the difference between a B.S and B.A in Biology and Chemistry?

I want to major in forensic science (and work in a lab analyzing DNA for crimes and stuff like that) but im not sure which is right for me: Biology or Chemistry? a B.A or a B.S? Please, i only need answers from people who know what they are talking about. Thanks!
