What is the difference b/n a camp and a fort? (In military term)?

When being built forts were intended to resist artillery fire. Camps were originally envisioned as bivouacs.

Marine bases are Camps, Army bases are Forts.

I think the reason being is because Marines wouldn't build a fort, we just setup camp because after we rest and clean our weapon we have to continue to assault through and move positions. Soldiers build a fort in order to fend off inevitable surrender for as long as possible to "maintain face."
