The main reason I prefer email desktop client software is because I own multiple email accounts, which include work accounts that are from the company's domain, and prefer having one software to manage them all, rather than multiple web interfaces. Factor that with multiple PCs (home + work and/or laptop), and POP3 no longer makes sense.
(Also am not looking for the GUID trick as the answer)
