I read in the paper today that there is a huge amount of relationships breaking up due to internet chat rooms. I have also personally been touched by this same thing recently.
I am curious to hear from people who have actually been involved in chat lines while being in a relationship as well as the people who have not done this but think they understand why. Please state which one you are. And if when you started in the chat room, was it for the purpose of meeting someone or just for company ?
I personally would not go into a chat room while I was in a relationship for the exact same reason that I would not go out for a coffee or put myself in a face to face situation to meet someone of the opposite sex outside the relationship.
If you personally contact/ed chat rooms, did it in the end, interfere with the current relationship ?? Or is it possible to just have these people as friends ?
I guess I just want to understand why a person in a relationship would take this risk and then leave their current relationship for the chatline when it is clear that you cannot have both ..........
