What is the best year toyota tacoma. Ive heard issues with head gaskets?

looking at buying a t 1996 4x4 2.7 liter tacoma. has 128kmiles. i checked carfax it was clean. does this year have any issues with head gaskets or was it just the v6 tacomas. the frame has little to no rust also.
