I'm looking to learn about history from a global standpoint, and to specifically learn much more about the east, and it's history. Maybe even a book on that topic as well. Maps, pictures, and charts of high quality throughout are a must. I've read, "A Little History of the World," now I'm ready for something more...academic.
The Bible is not a valid answer though I read it often; it only gives us history from a perspective of Israel, not all the details of life.
