I'm going to be getting a 12.4 foot longboard soon for stand up paddleboarding. My dad has a truck, but I would hate to bother him EVERYtime I want to go paddleboarding, especially because he lives 30 mins from the beach, and I live 10. I have a 4 door Mazda 3. Is it possible to transport my board to the beach using my car? It's only 10 minutes to get to the beach by car, versus 20 minutes by foot (plus a HUGE board and paddle). Also, are there any laws against transporting a board that big on a small car? I figure, im driving slow and it's not far to the beach, it should be okay, right?
