Well, my mom had her locks she always wraped them up with a head scarf at night. and the most important thing is to keep them twisted!! the cotton balls come when they're not twisted and then they get cought up in your hair and it becomes a mess. But dont roll around on the floor and i would wash them about every week, if u just started them, then you probably want to wait a while so the twists dont come out. A lot of this also depends on your hair type also.
