What is the best way to get neighbors to turn off their stereo?

Exactly what do you think the people in neighboring apartments pay rent for? It is because they have the freedom to do as they wish in what is legally their own home.
Your apartment manager will probably end up giving you notice because it seems you are harassing your neighbors. The fact that you work from home is none of their business and certainly not something they are required to make special allowances for

We have neighbors that have moved in that have a nice stereo, the bass travels through our whole apartment. Their stereo can be heard 6-7 hours out of the day, and I work from home. In past apartments, I have usually needed to tell the neighbor a number of times to turn it off, and bug the apartment manager before our apartment is bass free. What is the best way to get them to turn off their stereo, at least the bass, while maintaining a good neighborly relationship?
JIM - you are suggesting the rent I pay is to listen to their stereo, and that i have a right to blast my music at neighbors as well?

Invite them over to your house for dinner or anything and introduce yourself. Tell them that you work from home and that it's not as easy as it seems as there are a lot of distractions and noises throughout the day. You know, try to deliver the message but very indirectly and politely.

I had the same problem a few years back. I went to the basement and turned off his electricity. When he came down to turn it back on I introduced him to my friends, Mr Fist and Mr. Foot. He moved out shortly after.
