What is the best way to get into Financial Advising/Planning?

I have a BS in Accounting and have been working in accounting for about 4 years. My real passion is financial advising but I'm not exactly sure of the best course of action to get there. Do I need a degree in Personal Finance to get a job at a group like Ameriprise or Merrill Lynch? Or do they do on the job training? I plan on getting a Masters in Personal Finance or maybe just Finance but I don't know what needs to come first.
