I asked this question because while at Zachary's Ridge the other day, my friend and I had a discussion about the easiest way to get children interested in the outdoors. ( zacharysridge.com ) We feel like hiking would be easiest. We feel the cost would not be as much as other outdoor activities. Hiking does not require a lot of time. If your children are very young and is ready to go, try again on another day. A hike presents many different curiosities to capture a child’s attention. You can proceed at your child’s pace. If the child is older, you can slow down the pace.
