What is the best way to disable ABS ON A 1995 CHEVY S-10 PICKUP?

I have a 1995 chevy s-10 pickup, i need to disable the ABS , because the pump is not working. I pulled the fuse that is supposed to be for the abs and after doing that, the speedometer did not work and it would not shift out of low. Why would this do that? Is there another way to disable the ABS?
