Use 3-4 ozs per person - rinse in cold water then put straight into boiling water with a little salt in it.
It usually takes about 15-20 minutes - check after 15 minutes & make sure it hasn't boiled dry then give it another 2 minutes at a time before you check again.
Once it is cooked - drain it immediately and rinse in boiling water before you serve it or use it it in a recipe.
