What is the best way to chat up a girl at a club/party?

Theres this girl at college who I really like but don't know well enough to confidently make a move ( I sat near her on a short course that ended 2 months ago and we got on really well but havent had chance to speak to her since, apart from a hi whenever we see eachother). At the last college party she was being quite flirty from a distance, but didn't have the confidence to approach her, and theres a college party coming up in a few days time and I don't really know how to ask her out. Anybody have any tips?

Dont walk up with a cheesy chat up line. Have a drink or two to relax u............then at some stage go up and talk to her...if it helps what i always do is talk to someone u know better that is next or near to her then u can turn around and be like "oh hey" ...........just talk for awhile..try have a laugh drop in the odd discreet compliment like "are u wearing colour contacts?" and she'll be like "no" and then u be like "cause ur eyes are so bright" ..discreet but she'll love it....just have light hearted banter then ur confidence will build up and u can ask her for her number..if ur having a really fun time u could make a joke out of it and say "omg i think my phone is broken"...she'll be like "really ? whats wrong wit it?" and u can be like "it doesnt hav ur number in it"
