your 1 gallon tank with no filteration is basically a torture chamber for any fish including betta's. a betta may last about 2-3 months but can you honestly say you will enjoy keeping it? knowing it is having a slow and very painful death????????
and you will need some sort of water flow to keep anything alive in that tank.
some people can be soo cruel to animals these days just for their own joy or they did not want to spend the money to keep the fish alive.
