what is the best protein or creatine powder should i use? is pre-workout powders

better then post-workouts? im 17 and i started working out about a month ago. not using any shakes or anything and i gained about 10 pounds in a month. but im looking to gain more muscle weight. but im not a hardcore weight lifter. like at school we have a weight room and im usually in it everyday. but when my muscles feel sore i take a day or two break. im just looking for the best supplement for me. ive researched supplements but still need an answer. and whats better post workout supplements or pre work out?
