That's not "upgrading" your car.
Performance chips rearrange your fuel map.
What this does, is take low end horsepower, and transfers it to higher rpm.
This gives you a higher HP reading, on a dyno.
But you lose low end power, which means slower acceleration.
You also create a lean fuel mixture in your engine, which causes detonation, and premature engine failure. Say hello to replacing pistons, rings, possibly the entire block, etc.
Do about an hour's worth of research online, and you'll discover the many, many reasons to never get a "chip". Nevermind that simple logic would tell you that since no serious racer touches them.....that there's probably a good reason for it.
