what is the best paint to use on soft plastic?

i have this anime figurine maid with soft bendable plastic. i thought acrylics would work but it scrapes right of. though it doesn't chip. if i were to paint another figure what is the best paint to use? somewhere i heard the if i wanted that i could even paint polyurethane paint and paint over the acrylics and the acrylics wouldn't scrape will this work?
