What is the best nature and characteristics for these pokemon?

I'm breeding growlithe and trapinch for my heartgold and was wondering which is the best for them
for growlithe do should I increase speed , sp attk or attk or should I go neutral and what character

And for trapinch what nature and character should I have like capable of taking hits etc

both will have pokerus and will wear bracelets corresponding to the nature etc,,

I'm useless at this stuff so any help is appreciated I have 2 weeks till a tournament in my college so I need competetitive level 100's
