It seems impossible to pick just one...

--LOTR (pure brilliance); Sprited Away; Titanic; Gladiator
--Bend It Like Beckham: it's as exuberant as the film
--Spiderman 2: Every track is great!
--Great Expectations
--Honeymoon in Vegas
--Cruel Intentions

Titanic was awesome.
I loved Romeo and Juliet, and also Moulin Rouge.
City of Angels
I think my favorite would have to be Dirty Dancing, I have listened to it too many times to count!

- Braveheart and Legends of the Fall [both by James Horner]: Though he can get to be a little on the repetitive side, these two scores were 2 of his originals, and IMHO, his absolute best. Heartbreaking, epic, sweeping, dark, Celtic, weep-worthy.

-LOTR: all three of them are gorgeous, and really bring me back to the movies. Howard Shore deserves lots and lots of attention.

- Last of the Mohicans: very different, IMO from other scores. Beautiful and wild.

- Dances with Wolves: heartbreaking, like the movie. Sweeping, like the prairies.

My favorite soundtracks are probably Lord of the Rings and Dirty Dancing. I just love the 60s music from Dirty Dancing!

Grease is truly in a class of its own. :D

I also loved the "That Thing You Do" soundtrack.

I have to add Spider-man 2 - I adore this soundtrack. I've been listening to it nonstop since I bought it the day it came out. Several songs actually fit the movie, and there's a great selection on the CD.

collide by dishwalla in the movie series smallville..it was such a very nice song..really fits the movie..

kinda hard to say whats the "best" soundtrack.
-depends on ur taste of music, first of all
-secondly if the music "fits" with the movie
-etc..

but from the movies i ve seen, the first soundtrack that jumps in my head is the one from Requiem for a dream. Good movie to begin with, but Clint Mansel's music really gives the movie a new "dimension" :)

Grease is good too, I forgot it.
"You're the one I want" and "Summer time/love/nights" (I cannot remember the name) are my favourites :)

i got chills, they're multiplyin'
and i'm loooosing control.
'cause the power... you're supplyin'
it's electrofyin' !

City of Angels is up there, as is Cruel Intentions and The Virgin Suicides.
But my all time favorite is a two way tie between Duets (Gwyneth sings! Who knew?) and Magnolia.

Um... I have to say ... all 3 LotR ones, and then Velvet Goldmine and Trainspotting !

I love Howard Shore's work for the 3 LOTR soundtracks.

James Newton Howard - Signs This music is wonderful

James Horner is also a fave - Braveheart, Titanic, Willow

There are many other great ones, I love soundtracks.

I love musicals, so my favorite soundtracks are from Grease, Hairspray, Across the Universe, and The Sound of Music.

Movies that aren't musicals but have a good soundtrack are A Walk to Remember and Romeo + Juliet.

Grease is my #1 favorite movie of all time; I switch favorite movies every few years, but Grease is and always will be at the top of my list, ever since I was about 7 or 8 years old. A big part of that is because of the soundtrack. My mom owns both the cassette and CD versions, and I remember being about 5 just listening to it, but not really paying any attention. lol. But a few years later, after actually watching the movie, I was like 'THAT'S IT. I FOUND MY FAVORITE.' haha. I love John and Olivia as Danny and Sandy, their voices together were just too awesome.

Across the Universe is another one of my faves because I LOVE the Beatles. All of this was because of my mom's awesome taste in music. lol. But the way they switched it up in the movie impressed me. I really didn't think I'd like any of the songs, cuz I thought they'd totally ruin the Beatles songs for me, but I have to admit, I love a lot of them. Some I could do without, but they did a great job on their renditions.

I also love the whole feel of the A Walk to Remember soundtrack. I really became a Switchfoot fan because of it, and my love for Rachael Lampa and gospel music in general seriously took off because of this movie and the songs.
