Go to a barn that shows what you want to do and ask about the breeds there.
Breed really only has to do with how well a horse can do something. A thorobred can run fast for racing, and a quarter horse is better suited for rodeo stuff. Warm bloods are suited for dressage.
Has nothing to do about if the horse will get along with other horses or not. That depends on how well the horse is trained.
The two more important things are:
1. natural temperment (any breed)
2. training (how well the horse is trained)
Get a horse 10 yrs old or older. Not younger. The older and well trained horse is great as a beginner horse. More forgiving.
