I am currently a freshman at Penn State. I am currently taking classes for criminal justice mostly because I had no idea what I wanted to do. I am almost 100% sure I am changing my major because I have become interested in become a financial adviser or something along those lines. I was thinking about changing over to accounting or finance. I read that people with a degree in accounting can make close to 100k a year but I have not really researched finance yet. Now I am not expecting to make 100k right out of college. I know the most I will probably make is 50k if im lucky right out of college. I am expecting about 40k a year. But I am hoping that by mid career I will be well over 75k a year hopefully around 100k. But I am stuck with what major I should choose. What major would give me the best oppurtunity to become a financial adviser and if that was to fail which one would give me the highest chance at success?I am actually interested in working for a bank. I am really not that familiar with the jobs available but I know alot of these people I work for work for banks and make ALOT of money. I know I have high hopes but i am a college student and my part time job I am pretty much working around these people and I see them driving these expensive cars and have beautiful homes and I what that to be me.
