What is the best cellphone option for cruising Europe?

Do we change service from Sprint to ATT so we can get newer phones and BLACKBERRIES!? Do we lease an international phone? Do we buy an "international calls only" phone for $79 plus $20 for the simm card, add it to our Sprint service for the month and then cancel it unless we take another cruise to Europe OR sell it afterward?
