what is the best brand, type, and model of mountain bike for all terrian?

I have a DB response which I despise. I need to upgade. I need dual suspension and light other wise tell me what else I need. I ride down hill, cross country, road, easy freestyle and any thing else I can get away with. I would also like to stay below $2000 perferably $1500.
If this is not feasable please let me know why.
