I'm in the process of getting a small business off the ground, and I've come to the part where my business partner and I need to start a bank account for the company. I've checked with my current bank, TD Canada Trust, and also CIBC, and I'm dismayed at the rates. Call me naive, but I don't really understand why the rates have to be any different than a personal bank account - it seems like gouging to me.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has any experience finding a "gem" in the small business banking world. I don't care what the bank is, as long as the rates are bargain basement, so to speak. I live in downtown Toronto, so provided they have a branch SOMEWHERE in the downtown core, I'm cool with going where ever I have to go to bank with them.
Any suggestions?
