What is the average time frame for joining the military? Navy specifically.?

I am about to graduate from college and highly considering joining the Navy. I am trying to figure out a time frame as in when I would first talk to a recruiter to MEPS (each of them) and when I might actually be shipped out to a base and or training. Are any or all of these things more or less up to me?

Specifically I am looking at the Navy officer program, primarily at supply corps, if any of it makes a difference.

Note: I know I can talk to the recruiter but I've found it has helped to get information other people that have done it.
