What is the answer to this riddle?

One average sunday morning, the chief of police was relaxing in his office when all of a sudden, the phone rings. Apparently, there had been a murder two blocks over and he was needed immediately. Mrs. Dempsey, a kind old lady who had been sick, was found on her bed dead. A pair of scissors had clearly been used as the murder weapon but the chief found no blood, cuts, or bruises on Mrs. Dempsey's body. How could this be?
 
Mrs. DEmpsey killed someone with the scissors and then died of something
The murderer killed someone else with the scissors and Mrs. Dempsey died from old age or sumthin
The murder killed himself and mrs.demspey had a heart attack

If she was sick then she was most likely using oxygen mask. Her life depended on breathing oxygen all the time. The oxygen was supplied to the mask through a cord that was cut with the scissors. The murderer cut the oxygen line with the scissors so she had no wounds, no blood, no cuts, yet she died because she couldn't breathe the oxygen she needed...
