What is the answer to this RIDDLE?

if we have 9 apples all have same weight except one of them is much heavier and we only have 2 tries to weigh them by using a balancing device how can we know the apple which has the greater weight.

note:we can't know that by using hands or any way except the balancing device
- the balance device has 2 balancing sides
 
You put them on each scale one by one. The scale should balance itself after every 2 apples. When it doesn't, you know the last apple was the heavier one.
