what is the advantage of using a diacid chloride rather than a dicarboxylic acid

for the preparation of nylon? more specifically there are two layers one is aqueous and contains 5% hexamethylenediamine and 20%NaOH, and the organic layer contains 5% adipoyl chloride in cyclohexane. if someone could really help me here, i'm not to sure where to go from here.
