What is the actual goal of the health care debate?

Is it to provide affordable health care to every American? If that is desired the government would simply extend Medicare to every American. Problem solved. Premiums to the Medicare system could be adjusted to pay for the program.

But of course our corrupt politicians will never do that.

Under Medicare, America would have no use for the greedy insurance corporations. They would cease to exist. Also, the profits of large health care corporations such a clinics and doctors and hospitals would be limited by being forced to accept what Medicare pays. This would control costs that Obama and others keeps yapping about.

This proves who actually is running America, and why our corrupt politicians actually don't give a hoot about our health care. They are only protecting the rich and the corporations as usual.
ssparkle, I have great health insurance right now. And in two years I will be forced into Medicare. Of course I will have to continue paying for my good insurance also. Medicare could be made the sole provider and would cover everything with no supliment insurance needed. But like I say, the politicians are to corrupt to give up the bribes from the powers that be, to actually give us health care.

It depends who you ask. Some people genuinely want to better the system and others want to position themselves to get the most benefit out of whatever bill is passed.

Since the second half of that statement is generally what lobbyists and special interests groups try to do they're going to try to get a bill passed that most benefits them and they'll try to steer the debate in that direction as much as possible. Somehow there's money involved in not doing what's absolutely best for the American people, but that's lobbying for you.

As for the best way to provide quality health care, I'd listen to the doctors and nurses and ignore the bobbleheads.

I have medicare and I still have to shell out 100 month to blue cross, believe it, so add it up I pay 200 a month for health insurance, I am 67 and good health and never use it except for routine blood test that tell me I am a wonder at 67, oh a mammogram also I get. that cost 2400 a year??? I have it just in case I do have a stroke or whatever. please
so I would drop blue cross and Only have medicare right??
