What is that really bright object in the sky?

Ive never noticed this before the last few days, but there is a really really bright object in the sky. It was in the eastern sky at night time in the UK if that helps.I was just curious as to whether it was a planet or a star?
Or maybe a comet?

It could be a star!! or mars because sometimes you can see that to at night
