proust", usually as a joke? Can anyone please summarise what that exactly means? Who is Proust?

Marcel Proust was a French writer from the early 20th century, best known for a massive novel known as "In Search of Lost Time" (À la recherche du temps perdu).

This work is 7 volumes and about 3,000-4,000 pages long, depending on the publisher. Trying to summarize something so long and intricate is a tall order, and trying to do it under 15 seconds is plain silly.
