It's been a few years now since the Pontiac Solstice was released and they aren't brand new cars anymore. Now that the newness has worn off and a lot of people have sold/traded their Solstice I would like input about the Solstice Base or GXP from previous owners or people with a lot of knowledge on these cars.
As a previous owner/current owner/ or someone with knowledge of the Solstice, what are the most common problems in a Solstice? Generally do these cars keep their owners in the mechanics shop all the time? If you were an owner or currently an owner what problems have you had with the Solstice?
I know the little Cons like terrible trunk space, flimsy cup holders, not the roomiest things around, little to none components to stash items in, and what not. But I don't know the over all 'Reliability' of the Solstice. I've read car reviews and they get a mediocre rating but I would really like to hear specific problems from previous owners. Were the problems major or just minute little things?
I know all cars are going to have mechanical problems sometime or another in the future and I know the Solstice is quite cheaply built compared to, say, what a Mercedes Benz could put out. But my biggest fear is getting something that's going to keep me in the mechanics shop 24/7 and end up really costing me.
