What is it that causes the sag to the left...AKA the "GM lean"on the older?

muscle cars...I think in the 60's and early 70's. Is it because of the torque of the motors?
There is no Hemi or 440 in GM's
I didn't give you guys those thumbs...I'm still thumbless.
