What is inf folder? I was created under C:\Windows and I didn't do anything

to create that? So the inf folder was recently created under C:\Windows. What is it? I only installed my external hard drive today and nothing else but this folder had appeared? Is it safe to delete it? HOw can I delete it?
what's a driver information? Why can't I delete it?

It is a folder containing driver information for hardware, I would not delete it.
