What is GS-13 or YD-2 in Military, if they are not ranking what are them?

I have heard about Militarry ranking and I heard some rankings like GS- 1 to 13 or above and I also heard about Military ranking YD-1 to above. When I googled military rankings I couldnt find any thing related to them. May be these are payment ranking or other kind of ranking. Can any body answer me?
 
Those are not military rankings, but federal government pay grades for civilian employees of the US Government.
