Okay so my girlfriend and I went out for drinks a couple of nights ago (we've been going out for about a week now). Somehow a conversation about a certain ethnic group started sounding very stereotypical and I tried to change the subject before I got offended. My girl says she was simply agreeing with the stereotype because the bartender had started it first. As if that's a good excuse, furthermore, she implies that I should not judge people and asks me how I would feel if someone judged me... As if I was wrong for thinking that what was being said was intolerant. I then tell her that judgment is the wrong word, that I was simply being human and morally correct. So she says this conversation is going nowhere and to just drop it and to have a good night. And then I have the last word and say forget all the labels, all I am trying to say is if something is wrong it's wrong. Am I over reacting?
