What is Geothermal Energy? ?

It is heat built up from packets in the earth filled with magma. This magma heats up water above it and send up steam and heated water, like Old faithful. The person, or people, who owns the land can hook up a steam-powered generator to create energy.
 
Well...
heat energy is released from the radioactive rocks underground that decay - so therefore - underground heats up.
Cold water is pumped down to these rocks and this water is heated (because of the hot rocks). This water ( which is now hot) is pumped back up and used to drive a turbine with is connected to a generator ( which produces electricity)
