what is financial aid?

ok i know the basic definition of financial aid, but i need help like completley understanding it. what are the different types of financial aid (pell grants, cal grants, bog waivers, etc....) can you define them for me specifically.
is it possible to recieve more than one at the the same time? and do they have deadlines?
 
Board of Governors is a bog grant. It come from the college district, or the individual college. You have to ask about the deadlines they each have at your college. Most of them are around April 1st, but most also accept late applications. Though the economy may have put an end to that. There are probably more applications than ever before because of the economy. Most experienced college students grab a current application in the fall, fill it out as far as possible, then when they know what their taxes will be (by the end of the year), they get the new application as soon as it comes out, then mail it in the 2nd of January for the fall of that year.

The process is different for each type of financial aid. The school's Financial Aid office will help you figure out which is right for you, and which you need to apply for.
