Ive never had any kind of mechanical failure with them or anything like that. I fish 12 months a year too. Ive never spent over 80 dollars on an abu product but yet they have top of the line quality. If your looking at the baitcasters check out the black max series, i have 2 of them. There very very smooth reels.
