The fuel gage is acting erratically and there is a thumping noise coming from the middle of the dashboard. Is there a relay in there that could be thumbing and I need a new sending unit? I noticed it when the fuel was about at a 1/4 of a tank. The gage swings from full to empty and any where in between. If the car has sit for a little while it will read right briefly. I'm at a lose. I have only had the car a week, but it doesn't seem to do it when it is full.
