what is Bluetooth serial port for?

I had a Motorolla razar that had picture transfer and audio transfer, very easy to use. Just bought a Motorolla i776 from Boost Mobile, doesn't have any of thos but had a BT Serial Port. What da hell is that for, I connected it, but didn't notice a difference.


I want to use it to transfer photos and music from my computer to my phone and vice-versa
