What is better, HARD DRIVE or FLASH DRIVE?

really depends how much data you want to store. flash drives are quicker but in the higher memory end they tend to cost more per gb then hard drives. and if you want to go over 300gb a hard drive is the way to go as flash drives only store up to 256gb currently (costs around AU$500 off ebay) for smaller memory sizes of under about 100gb flash drives would be the way to go. hope i could help
 
I heard that flash drives are better because they are more durable and last longer. But a disadvantage seems to be that they generally store less data.

I was thinking of getting some sort of external hard drive or even a flash drive that holds a lot of data. Which one would be better and what is more durable?
