grader would understand it? i have to write a childrens book on the foundations of the western civilization and i dont know a synonym for civilization that a 5-8 year old would understand
please help??
 
a big group of people...

ex. A long time ago in America, there were crazy people called indians who lived here. People from England came over and started a large group of people, called a civilization

my facts are right but you get the basic idea lol
