what is an fce about

My doctor wants me to have a FCE done, Im just trying to get some information on this test. What kind of test is it? what does it consist of? And what does it prove? anybody who has had this test please respond.
 
An FCE (Functional Capacity Examination) is a test that is supposed to be an objective evaluation of the your ability to perform certain activities, such as lifting, bending, kneeling, squatting, gripping and walking.

Are you by any chance on Workers' Comp? Many WC carriers will request an FCE to see where your functionality stanRAB. Sometimes SS does as well when evaluating a claim for SSDI or SSI.
 
I have had one it is like Spine said just go in and do what you can if it hurts stop they do check your pulse after you have to stop each exerise. to see if your are putting forth affort.
