What is an event or historical time period that has helped define human civilization?

The Egyptian civilization, the sudden civilization that came into being completely formed and inspired other major civilizations and religions, including todays hacked religion called Christianity, helped define human civilization.

In egyptian times, the civilization was awesome and complete. They did things which no one could ever do before. The Pyramids are the best proof of that, not to mention that the usual bs about pyramids being built by Khufu. The Pyramids were built much earlier than that. The laws of Egypt inspired all civilizations, and even today Chiristianity ends the Lord's prayer with "Amen" which is nothing but a hacked version of the religion of "Amen" of Egypt.
 
Generally, people talk about civilization when a human group starts to practice agriculture, domesticates animals and settle in centers (towns, city) in a permanent place. This kind of model started in Neolithic times in Mesopotamia (an area between Turkey and Irak) and Egypt.
As an Anthropologist, I prefer using the word "culture" rather than civilization. Because it doesn't implicate any superiority idea like what happens with the word civilization (versus barbarians).
 
There could be several answers to this one question but, the one that I'll talk about is the Move from Africa out to the way points of Europe and the East.
When man, as we knew him moved for whatever reasons, drought, food, following herds, moved into the stages that brought him towards the destiny of where we are today, the European Continent and the Asian Continent.

There will be those that will argue about Parallel movement and I agree, until we know for sure this may have happen but for now ?
