You might only have one or two classes each day in college, with time gaps in between. College classes meet for about 45 min - 1.5 hours each day, labs meet for 2-4 hours (if you have a lab). Attendance may not be mandatory (it will be for labs) but that doesn't mean you're doing yourself any favors by skipping. Go to class, take good notes, ask questions, and don't start the homework the night before it's due. College classes move at a faster pace than high school (College Algebra, for example, includes high school algebra I and II - two years of high school math - in one semester). How do they do that when they don't even meet as often as a high school class? They don't - you do. You're expected to pick up a lot more on your own, and do a lot more work outside of class.
