What is a sway bar??? (Mazda)?

In Mazda's do they have a sway bar on the back or only on the front?

Could a loose sway bar cause a lot of knocking sounds?

I BELIEVE that they are only in the front since they are *mostly* FWD cars, but they could also be in the rear as well.

It depends on the occurance of this "knocking" sound. If it is every once and a while I.E when you hit a bump or turn, it could be, but they are usually tied in pretty stiff with the suspension system.
