What is a good road bike pump for around $25-$40?

I bought a blackburn air tower 3 and it was bad. I needed to force the pump onto the valve and then pull the stiff up to lock in the valve. Eventually after a few uses I broke 2 valves and decided to sell it. I was wondering what is a good bike pump to buy. I'm not a road bike racer, just the occasional daily/weekend biker. I was looking at a brand called Top peak and serfas. Here are some links that I am looking into.

Thanks biking community :D

Are you using the pump correctly? With ANY bicycle floor pump you need to push down firmly on the air chuck to seat it properly on the valve. Then flip the lever up.

When done, you have to remember to move the lever back again. Either pump you mentioned should work. Heck...all I have is a Zefal Air Max Floor Pump from Wally World & it works great. One of my bikes has Schrader valves. The others have Presta valves. Works good on both types. And only about $20.00.
