What is a good nonfiction book to read?

I need to read a nonfiction book for school.When i think of nonfiction i think of boring,of biographies,of autobiographies.Is there a book that is nonfiction but good and interesting for a 13 year old to read( not to big or to small).Also can i just get suggestions of good books in general
(not twilight,harry potter,hunger games,or any other series) THANKS :) =)
